Why a separate pass

Nobody catches their own coordination errors. The person who drew the window schedule knows what it was supposed to say, and reads what they meant rather than what is on the sheet. So the review is run as its own operation, against a written list, in the order a plan checker works.

What the checks are

35 written rules. Each one carries a severity, the code section or the local amendment behind it, and a measured time to fix. A finding is never an opinion: if a check cannot point at the rule it comes from, it is not a check.

Where they came from

Real correction letters. The rulebook started from the corrections that come back most often on Bay Area residential sets and has been revised every time a reviewer raised something it did not cover. That new item becomes a check, which is the only mechanism that stops the same correction happening twice.

What happens on your project

1. The set is drawn and the structure designed.
2. The review runs, sheet by sheet, against all 35 checks.
3. Findings are logged with severity and closed on the drawings.
4. The set does not go out with a critical item open.
5. If a correction letter still comes, it is answered item by item against the reviewer's own numbering, and anything the rulebook missed is added to it.

What it is not

It is not a guarantee that your city will approve the set first time. Nobody can promise that, and a reviewer is entitled to ask for anything the code lets them ask for. What it does is remove the corrections that were avoidable, which on a typical residential set is most of them.
